SM Supermalls' Job Fair and Government Service Express Expand Digital Inclusion Through Growing DICT Partnership

MANILA, Philippines — Building on the successful launch of its cybersecurity upskilling program and its recent recognition from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), SM Communities is expanding its partnership with DICT to bring free digital skills and AI learning opportunities to more Filipinos across the country.

Participants can register for free AI and digital literacy courses under AI for All, reinforcing SM Supermalls' commitment to lifelong learning and workforce readiness.

The expansion follows the successful launch of the first cybersecurity training session held at the Government Service Express (GSE) in SM City North EDSA, where 63 participants enrolled despite only 50 available slots— a strong indication of the growing demand for accessible digital learning opportunities within communities. The overwhelming response affirmed SM Communities' evolving model of bringing together employment opportunities, government services, and digital upskilling in one convenient location, empowering Filipinos to build future-ready skills while accessing essential public services.

The inaugural session featured Fundamentals of Digital Forensics and Incident Response, equipping participants with practical knowledge on safeguarding digital systems and responding to cyber threats. The oversubscribed training highlighted the increasing public interest in technology-focused learning and reinforced the need to make these opportunities more widely accessible. Building on the program's success, SM Communities and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) are now working to roll out similar digital literacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence training programs across more SM malls in Metro Manila and key regional locations.

The initiative builds on the Digital Bayani sa Last Mile Award recently conferred by DICT during the Digital Bayanihan Awards. Presented by DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, the recognition honors SM Supermalls' continued commitment to making employment opportunities, government services, and digital learning more accessible through its flagship community programs—SM Job Fairs and Government Service Express (GSE).
