SM OFFICIALLY HANDS OVER HENRY SY SR. HALL TO SAN FRANCISCO HIGH SCHOOL IN QC

SM Prime Holdings Chairman of the Executive Committee Hans T. Sy leads the turnover of Henry Sy Sr. Hall to San Francisco High School together with members of the Sy family and SM Supermalls President Steven Tan. He is joined by representatives from DepEd, San Francisco High School, Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon, and DepEd Sec. Sonny Angara.

SM has officially handed over a four-story building to San Francisco High School, located near SM North EDSA, one year after a devastating fire affected the campus.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the new Henry Sy Sr. Hall features 1,200 classroom chairs made from upcycled plastic.

The new Henry Sy Sr. Hall is located inside San Francisco High School in Quezon City. 

It also houses 24 classrooms, each equipped with a teacher's table-and-chair set, four 100W ceiling-mounted oscillating fans, and a Google TV. Select rooms in the third floor also have an operable wall system that supports auditorium functions. Dedicated restroom areas are available on every floor.

"The new Henry Sy Sr. Hall symbolizes more than just a building. It represents opportunity, hope, and our collective investment in the future of this community. We hope this new facility will inspire students to learn, grow, and become future leaders who will contribute positively to our nation," Steven Tan, SM Supermalls President, said during the turnover program.

The new school building donated by SM was completed ahead of the opening of public school classes on June 8, 2026. SFHS serves around 6,800 learners and is among the largest public secondary schools in the country.

Present during the turnover ceremony were Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara, Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Carlo Sotto, SM Prime Holdings Chairman of the Executive Committee Hans Sy, SM Engineering, Design, and Development Corporation President Hans "Chico" Sy Jr., SM Supermalls Senior Assistant Vice President Hanna Carinna Sy, SM Foundation Inc. Executive Director Debbie Sy, and SM Supermalls President Steven Tan.

Hans T. Sy and members of the Sy family and SM representatives met with President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon, Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, and DepEd Sec. Sonny Angara. 

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also visited the new Henry Sy Sr. Hall and met with the leaders and representatives of SM. 

Through projects like Henry Sy Sr. Hall, SM continues to help create better learning environments for future generations.
