Chinabank’s aggressive push into digital payments and high-value consumer rewards reached a new milestone as it secured four prestigious titles at the 2026 Visa Awarding Ceremony. Held on March 27 at the Blackbird in Makati City, the event recognized the bank’s exceptional growth and its role in modernizing the Philippine retail landscape.

The global payments leader, Visa, conferred two top performance awards to the bank: Highest Cross Border Payment Volume Growth and Highest E-Commerce Payment Volume Growth. These citations highlight the bank's success in capturing the shift toward international travel and the booming digital economy, reflecting a customer base that is increasingly global and tech-savvy.

Beyond transaction volume, Chinabank was honored with the Recognition for New Product Launch, celebrating the successful market entry of its expanded card suite: the lifestyle-focused CBC Velvet Visa, the high-earning CBC Ultra Rewards, the household-centric CBC @home Visa, and the enhanced CBC Visa Debit Card. These products represent the bank’s strategy to provide hyper-personalized financial tools for different life stages and spending habits.

Rounding out the evening’s achievements, Chinabank was named First to Market for Pays, a nod to its pioneering role in bringing Google Pay to its cardholders. By being the first bank in the country to integrate this seamless mobile payment technology for its credit and debit card products, the bank has solidified its position as a leader in contactless and mobile-first banking solutions in the Philippines.

“We are proud to partner with Visa in delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions that keep pace with the modern Filipino’s lifestyle,” Chinabank Consumer Banking Segment Head Aloysius Alday Jr. said. “Winning these four awards validates our shared commitment to making every transaction simpler, faster, and more rewarding. By combining Visa’s global scale with our ‘Focused on You’ brand promise, we are ensuring that our clients always have access to world-class payment experiences.”
