With these eco warrior initiatives that you can find at the SM Malls, you can now enjoy shopping, dining, and leisure while taking part in building a sustainable future! Through the Reverse Vending Machine of SM Cares called Eco Vendo—the first of its kind in the private sector—SM mall goers can enjoy special discounts in exchange for their PET bottles and aluminum cans. All they need to do is deposit these recyclable items in the specially designed vending machines at SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.

For every 1,000ml worth of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles and/or aluminum soda cans deposited, the customer can choose one of the following reward discounts: 15% off at SM Skating or 15% off at SM Bowling.

SM Supermalls use LEDs instead of traditional bulbs. During the switch off for Earth Hour, SM Malls reduced CO2 emissions equal to 417,940 smartphones charged; or carbon sequestered by 57 tree seedlings grown for 10 years. This year marks the company's 15th year of continued support for Earth Hour, where mall signages and lighting in key areas were turned off or reduced to 50 percent working capacity.

27 SM Malls are equipped with a 7.4KW Wallbox Pulsar Plus AC and integrated charging cable for Type 2 cars. Use of charging stations is FREE from 10am to 10pm daily.

The SM Sunday Market is a joint initiative of SM Supermalls, SM Cares, and the SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) which spotlights its Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) program. This helps thousands of local food producers by providing them with high-traffic locations at SM malls nationwide to display and market their products to weekend shoppers.
