As the holiday season approaches, SM Megamall is giving shoppers a taste of New York City's marvelous ambiance, leaving both customers and guests in awe!
For this year’s SM Megamall 'Mega and Bright Christmas,' which was held last October 20, 2023, the mall unveiled a Christmas tree through a wonderful show with a New York motif that aims to embody the spirit of the nonstop metropolis.
The tree, standing at 50 feet, was adorned with ornaments that highlight the city's special character, including tiny replicas of well-known landmarks, dazzling lights, and a sense of Central Park's natural beauty.
"As we turn on the lights, unveil our stunning holiday displays, and fill the air with the scent of holiday magic, we hope to create a season filled with experiences that will warm your hearts and create memories to last a lifetime," said SM Supermalls Assistant Vice President for Operations Christian Mathay.
SM Megamall unveiled its 50-foot New York City-inspired Christmas tree, brilliantly capturing the festive spirit of the bustling metropolis during the holiday season. Leading the tree-lighting ceremony were (L-R): Santa Claus, SM Supermalls’ Senior Vice President for Marketing Joaquin San Agustin, SM Supermalls’ Assistant Vice President for Marketing Hanna Carinna Sy, Jose Mari Chan, Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos, and SM Supermalls’ Assistant Vice President for Operations Christian Mathay. Known as 'Mr. Christmas,' Jose Mari Chan also launched and serenaded guests with this year's SM Christmas Jingle titled 'Celebrate Christmas at SM'.
Every evening, the Christmas tree will come alive with a mesmerizing display of lights. Thousands of Light-Emitting Diode (LED) lights will be synchronized to create a breathtaking light show that pays homage to the dazzling neon lights of Times Square in New York.
In addition to that, 10ft, 5ft, and 3ft inflatable Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) balls mixed with spherical lamps and LED fireworks will surely delight guests!
Apart from the mall’s amazing Christmas centerpieces, shoppers will get to enjoy the Christmas Market from November to December, Coach Holiday Pop-Up from November 7 to January 7, and Santa Claus Meet and Greet on November 26, December 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 25, and 30.
This Christmas, SM Supermalls has teamed up with 'Mr. Christmas' himself, Jose Mari Chan, on a catchy holiday tune called "Celebrate Christmas at SM." Mr. Chan graced the tree-lighting ceremonies at SM Megamall and SM North EDSA to serenade guests and shoppers alike.
