In partnership with Autism Society Philippines, SM Markets started in 2016 a workplace inclusion program for persons with autism (PWAs) called "AutiSM at Work."
From one pilot store to 17 stores nationwide, SM Markets' PWA participants have gone a long way from displaying products on the supermarket shelves to becoming productive, improving their social skills, making more friends, inspiring other workers and delighting SM customers.
#AutiSMatWork provides young adults on the spectrum to be productive contributors in a workplace.
Participants of the program are assigned various tasks in the supermarket selling area.
The program is complemented by disability sensitivity training for all frontliners and in-store information for customers.
