Looking for where to watch movies in Manila? SM Cinema is stacked in November. Two K-pop events, Filipino cinema at its most anticipated, blockbusters in IMAX and Screen X, and ten films for every moviegoer.
For things to do indoors or ideas on where to hang out this weekend, Manila or anywhere else in the country, here is everything worth watching.
GODZILLA MINUS ZERO (November 4)
Genre: Sci-Fi / Action / Kaiju
Cast: Masami Nagasawa, Jun Kunimura

Japan, 1949. The war is over but the country is barely standing when Godzilla comes back. Takashi Yamazaki, who won the Oscar for Godzilla Minus One, returns to the same devastated Japan with one question: how do you fight something like this when you have nothing left? Shot natively for IMAX and premiering at the 64th New York Film Festival, this one picks up where Minus One left off.
RAMAYANA: RISE OF A LEGEND (November 5, SM Exclusive)
Genre: Animated Epic / Adventure
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey

The demon king Ravana kidnaps Sita and takes her to his kingdom across the sea. Prince Rama, stripped of his throne and armed with nothing but a bow and a sense of duty, sets out to bring her home. What follows is a war between worlds. Nitesh Tiwari brings it to animated life at a scale built for IMAX and Screen X, with a score co-written by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Ranbir Kapoor voices Rama, Yash plays Ravana, Sai Pallavi is Sita, and Sunny Deol brings Hanuman to life. This SM exclusive is a gala to the max and one of the most visually ambitious animated epics in Philippine cinema this year.
THE CAT IN THE HAT (November 6)
Genre: Animated Fantasy / Comedy
Cast: Bill Hader, Xochitl Gomez, America Ferrera, Giancarlo Esposito, Quinta Brunson

Gabby and Sebastian are new in town. They do not know anyone. Nothing is going right. Then a tall cat in a striped hat crashes through their door to fix their afternoon. Bill Hader voices the Cat in Warner Bros.’ animated take on the Dr. Seuss classic, built to kick off an entire Seussiverse. Funny, inventive, and perfect for a family day at your shopping mall with cinema.
STRAY KIDS WORLD TOUR <RUN IT> LIVE VIEWING (November 7, SM Exclusive)
Genre: Concert / Music Event
Cast: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, HAN, Felix, Seungmin, I.N.

Stray Kids’ RUN IT world tour, live from Tokyo Dome, comes to SM Cinema as an exclusive live viewing. This concert is more than three hours of performances, opening with Hall of Fame and going all out from there. The energy, the production, and the barkada atmosphere of watching it on the biggest screen available are reasons enough why you should book before it sells out.
EXO PLANET #6 - EXhOrizon [dot] IN CINEMAS (November 8)
Genre: Concert / Music Event
Cast: EXO (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Chen, Lay)

EXO’s EXhOrizon world tour comes to SM Cinema as a special broadcast, bringing one of K-pop’s most iconic runs to the big screen with full surround sound. With two K-pop events back to back, November is definitely going all out from day one.
REMEMBER (November 11)
Genre: Drama / Romance
Cast: Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera

Two people who once loved each other find themselves in the same place years later, carrying everything that happened between them. Filmed in Quebec, Canada, Remember reunites Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera for the first time since Rewind, under director Mae Cruz Alviar. Their last film hit hard. This one carries the same creative team and the same emotional ambition. Watch it with your barkada or on a date, and bring the tissues. Whether you need indoor date ideas in Metro Manila or anywhere else in the Philippines, Remember is it.
WILDWOOD (November 11, SM Exclusive)
Genre: Animated Fantasy / Adventure
Cast: Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett

Prue’s baby brother is snatched by a murder of crows and carried into the Wildwood, a forbidden forest at the edge of Portland that nobody enters. Prue goes in anyway, and so does her classmate Curtis. What they find inside is not only trees: it is an entire hidden world with its own rulers, its own war, and its own reason for wanting Prue’s brother. Directed by Travis Knight for LAIKA with 231 hand-crafted puppets and 136 built sets, this PG-13 stop-motion epic is the longest of its kind ever made. This one’s another SM exclusive and one of November’s most unforgettable films.
THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING (November 18)
Genre: Action / Adventure / Sci-Fi
Cast: Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Elle Fanning

Before Katniss ever stepped into an arena, there was Haymitch. Set 24 years earlier during the 50th Hunger Games, this prequel follows young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada), a quiet boy from District 12 thrown into a Games designed to be twice as brutal. Whitney Peak plays Lenore Dove. McKenna Grace is Maysilee Donner. Ralph Fiennes returns as a younger Coriolanus Snow. Based on Suzanne Collins’ latest novel, directed by Francis Lawrence, and showing in IMAX and Screen X for the all-out Quarter Quell experience.
LOOK BACK (November 25, SM Exclusive)
Genre: Drama
Cast: Natsuki Deguchi, Aju Makita, Furi Nanase, Rokka Okada

Fujino draws the class comic strip and is proud of it, until her teacher hands out a sketchbook from Kyomoto, a girl who never shows up to school. The drawings stop Fujino cold. What starts as rivalry between two kids who will never meet grows into a friendship, and then something much harder to describe. Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s one-shot manga and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, Look Back is a live-action film about making art and what it means to have someone who sees you through it. Quiet, devastating, another SM exclusive.
HEXED (November 25)
Genre: Animated Fantasy / Adventure
Cast: Hailee Steinfeld, Rashida Jones, Jim Hanks

Billie Doe is a teenager with real magical powers who has cast a spell she cannot undo alone. The only way to fix it is to work with her mother, which turns out to be harder than the magic itself. Directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Hexed is sharp, funny, and earns every beat. This is a great family day activity at SM to close out the month.
