This July, moviegoers will undoubtedly have a blast in the cinemas with ‘Barbenheimer,’ a recently viral term combining two contrasting yet critically acclaimed film titles, Barbie and Oppenheimer; the Disney fantasy/adventure movie, Haunted Mansion; and the horror flick, Talk to Me.
The highly anticipated films, Barbie and Oppenheimer hit theaters on July 19.
Barbie
The fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig is based on the famous fashion doll, with Margot Robbie in the lead role and Ryan Gosling as Ken. After being expelled from the idealistic Barbie Land, the two embark on a voyage of self-discovery. It also stars an ensemble cast including America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, and Dua Lipa.
People don’t know much about the first live-action Barbie movie. But it involves several dolls such as Lawyer Barbie, Diplomat Barbie, and Mermaid Barbie.
Oppenheimer
Shot using specialized IMAX cameras, the biographical thriller is about theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the development of the atomic bomb. It stars Cillian Murphy as the main character, with a supporting cast including Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey, Jr.
Shot with IMAX film cameras, watch Oppenheimer in the following IMAX branches: SM Aura Premier, SM City Cebu, SM City Clark, SM Lanang Premier, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM City North Edsa, and SM Southmall.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion
The supernatural horror comedy tells the story of a team that helps exorcise their newly bought mansion after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts. It stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Owen Wilson, and Winona Ryder.
Home is where the haunt is. Catch Disney’s fantasy/adventure film, Haunted Mansion on July 26.
Talk to Me
