Metro Manila is officially in its matcha era — and the hype is getting real. From August 22 to 31, 2025, the first-ever Manila Matcha Fest is happening at the Main Atrium of SM Mall of Asia, bringing together 12 of the hottest matcha cafés and patisseries for ten days of creamy, earthy, and oh-so-Instagrammable matcha goodness.
Expect the ultimate lineup — from ceremonial matcha lattes, banana pudding creations, and hojicha desserts to exclusive new drinks launching only at the festival. Yes, it’s matcha heaven, and yes, admission is free.
Here’s a taste of what’s waiting for you:
Aichi Cafe: This underrated matcha spot in Banawe is home to great matcha beverages and daifuku mochi. You can get the best of both worlds with their Green Tea Mochi (P65) or the Matcha Motchi Ice Cream (P150).
Chotto Matcha: From Little Tokyo, Chotto Matcha will be serving their bestsellers, the Authentic Matcha Latte (P205), Authentic Hojicha Latte (P205), and Strawberry Matcha Latte (P220). The store will also offer tea-infused bites such as the Matcha White Macadamia Cookies (P130) and Hojicha Cookies (P130), or for the best of both worlds, get the Hanami Matcha (P250) which comes with a stick of dango.
Day Off Space: From secondhand furniture to whisking tea in Pampanga, this tea room will be serving crowd-favorites: matcha and hojicha, served as Cookie Butter (P200/matcha, P200/hojicha), Banana Cream (P240/matcha, P220/hojicha), Coconut Cloud (P200/matcha, P200/hojicha), or a simple Latte (P180/matcha, P160/hojicha).
Matcha Mama: For those on the go or who want to stock up for the week, this matcha shop will have a refrigerator stocked with bottled matchas in Matcha Latte (P160), Spanish Matcha (P170), Matcha Chai (P180), and more. But they will also have a matcha bar to serve freshly whisked matcha drinks using their own matcha blend, and at this bar, you can go basic with the Ceremonial Matcha Latte (P210) or more out-of-the-box like the Cotton Candy Foam Ceremonial Matcha (P250)
Matchanese: Matchanese —who is the spearhead of the festival—will be offering drinks from their menu. Just a lil' something to be excited about: They're also launching four Manila Matcha Fest-exclusive drinks: Matchamisu Latte, Matcha Banoffee Latte, Matcha Mousse Latte, and Earl Grey Matcha Latte.
Melc Patisserie: Melc Patisserie will debut a matcha lineup featuring a collaboration with renowned matcha specialist Niko Neko (a popular matcha café in Malaysia). This dream team collaboration will launch a "single-serve ceremonial matcha," that's sort of like a matcha shot or matcha concentrate that they've prepared in bottles of Matcha Latte (P200), Matcha Banana Pudding Latte (P250), and Coffee Matcha (P240). They will also have a limited-time Matcha Discovery Pastry Box (P500/introductory price, P800/regular price), and this will include the following: 1 Single-Serve Melc Patisserie x Niko Neko Matcha Powder, 1 Truffle Shio Pan, 1 Mentaiko Potato Country Bun, and 1 Matcha Mochi Crookie Croissant.
Oh, Hey There: This matcha bar from BF Homes is launching new items during the festival, namely the Banana Cream Matcha (P270) and Banana Matcha (P210), which both use a homemade banana puree made with bananas from South Cotobato, and the Sesame Cream Matcha (P270). There will also be the recently launched Pistachio Cream Matcha (P270) and, of course, their best-selling Banana Pudding (P290).
Shizu Matcha Bar: One of the best places for matcha—it's that good that it's deemed worth a road trip to Caloocan. But now that they're having a pop-up in the south, there's no reason to miss it and try their matcha beverages.
Take Five Slow Bar: Keep missing Take Five Slow Bar's pop-ups? Now's your chance to try their famous matcha drinks: Classic Matcha (P190), Ichigo Matcha (P235), Early Grey Matcha (P240), and Mango Matcha (P245); and for the hojicha gals or guys, they have a Classic Hojicha (P190) and Double Hojicha (P240) Latte during their pop-up, too. The more indulgent versions come in the following flavors: Cereal Oat (P245), Banana Pudding Matcha (P265), Hojicha Oatchata (P240), and Honeybomb Matcha (P255).
The Matcha Co.: Matcha fans can treat themselves to The Matcha Co. lineup of drinks during the festival. They will serve their Extra Rich Matcha Latte (P240), Ichigo Matcha Latte (P260), and Sea Salt Cream Matcha Latte (P260). They are also whisking hojicha for their Hojicha Latte (P220) and Sea Salt Cream Hojicha Latte (P240).
The Matcha Tokyo: The Matcha Tokyo will bring their core menu to the festival, from lattes, lemonades, and tea-lightful sweets. They will also serve the new hojicha drinks: Hojicha Vanilla Cold Foam (P295/hot or iced) and Hojicha Early Frey (P295/hot or iced), plus a Burnt Basque Hojicha Cheesecake (P495/mini, P1,350/mini, and P3,960/whole), which is another special collaboration with El Born.
Ujisan: Ujisan is all about personalizing your cup of matcha, be it the Uji Matcha Latte (P250), Strawberry Matcha (P280), or Sea Salt Matcha (P280). You can get your matcha at Level 1 if you're a beginner, and it can go as high as God-Tier Level 10 if you really want to go hardcore—this, of course, comes with an additional P370. Hojicha fans get the same customization option with their Hojicha Latte (P220), Strawberry Hojicha (P260), Spanish Hojicha (P260), Sea Salt Hojicha (P260), and White Hojicha (P260).
But it’s not just about drinks:
💚Learn to whisk and make your own matcha and mochi creations at hands-on workshops.
💚Paint your own matcha bowl with pottery studio Wabi Sabi.
💚Dance it out at the Matcha Rave on August 29 with a live DJ set.
The Manila Matcha Fest is more than just a food fair — it’s a cultural celebration of the green wave taking over the metro.
