Children and Youth
Our Program on Children and Youth aims to make every SM Mall, a safe and nurturing environment for children, as well as providing a channel for the youth to play an active role in community and nation building. Some of our initiatives include supporting UNICEF Philippines’ Project WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), DSWD’s Adoption Consciousness Month, Safe Kids Week, and the Global Youth Summit.
Our partners include the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Global Peace Foundation, UNICEF Philippines, National Youth Commission and Safe Kids Philippines, amongst others.

Adoption Conciousness Month
SM Cares supports the Department of Social Welfare and Development by providing mall spaces for free, to host the promotion and accept inquiries for child adoption. This is held every February in observance of Child Adoption Month.

Support for Unicef Project Wash
A portion of the sales of the SM Supermalls bottled water is given to UNICEF in support of its Project WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) initiative.

Global Youth Summit
GYS is an annual gathering of students and youth leaders to engage them with today’s global issues that affect them most. The 2019 Global Youth Summit at the MOA Arena and SM City Cebu Trade Hall gathered more than 15,000 attendees, making it the largest gathering of youth leaders in the country. To date, more that 50,000 students have already benefited from this project. The project is held in partnership with Global Peace Foundation.

The Book Nook
The Book Nook is a a free library and community hub located at SM Aura Premier where parents and children can bond over books, workshops and activities.
How it works: Discover your next favorite book and read by the nook -> If you’ve fallen in love with the book, take it home for free! -> Give a pre-loved or new book in exchange for the book you will take home -> Share your favorite stories with someone else by leaving a note.
