Jojie’s Pa-Initan Central was established in June 2014 by a family of culinary enthusiasts with a big heart for Filipino food and culture. Starting with a dream to recreate the concept of the ‘PaInitan’, a Filipino refreshment parlor that showcases Filipino specialties made from local produce like kakanin (rice cake) and hot beverages like sikwate (hot cocoa), Jojie’s Pa-Initan Central has since supported the livelihood of local farmers and crafters. Jojie’s Pa-Initan sources their fresh and all-natural produce from farmers in Bohol, and their signature bilao (native baskets) from weavers in the town of Antequera, Bohol.

‘More than a family business, this venture is our humble way of supporting the livelihood of Filipino farmers and crafters.’, shared Engr. Arnold Labunog and Ma. Carmen Labunog, Jojie’s Pa-initan owners.

They continue to operate despite the pandemic but have used this challenge to push for more. “We have faced various operational problems but we have not laid off any of our working staff and have continued to offer our full menu.” The employees that are able to work during ECQ were given free board and lodging while the business capitalized on delivery even going as far as giving incentives to the drivers. Jojie’s Pa-initan Central remains steadfast amidst these uncertain times.

From just 2 outlets in 2014, Jojie’s now operates 13 branches in key areas in Cebu, two of which are in SM malls.
