Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism is a burgeoning sector within Southeast Asia, and SM Prime’s convention centers, including the renowned SMX Convention Centers and trade halls, are pivotal in this trend within the Philippines. These facilities attract a diverse range of events that significantly contribute to the economic vibrancy of their host cities. By expanding its convention facilities, SM Prime is committed to establishing the Philippines as a leading destination for MICE tourism.
SMX Convention Center Manila, the largest privately-owned venue in the country’s capital, has been a cornerstone of this effort. Recently awarded the Philippines’ Best Convention Center at the World MICE Awards, SMX Manila boasts 17,000 square meters of leasable space, accommodating up to 18,000 participants. Upcoming events such as WORLDBEX, Wedding Expo Philippines, and World Food Expo highlight SMX Manila’s critical role in hosting wide-reaching events across various industries.
The recognition of SMX Convention Center Manila on both regional and global stages, such as at the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards and the World MICE Awards, underscores its position as a premier venue for MICE events.

The majority of these new rooms will be located in provincial areas such as Isabela, Laguna, Cebu South Road Properties, Cavite, Laoag City, and Pampanga while the remaining rooms will be situated in Metro Manila.
