Want to treat mom post-Mother’s Day? Here are five fun date ideas to try.
These days, it’s easy for family quality time to be limited to hurried breakfast conversations, carpool small talk, or quick text repartees.
The rapid pace of our lives and the need to keep up with ever-changing schedules, whether at school or work, have simply affected the time we spend on nurturing personal bonds and rekindling family ties.
While penciling in one-on-one time may require effort, the payoff and fun memories will be worth it. Out of date ideas? Here are five day-out activities you should try.
1. A Cool Outing
Cool off and take mom out to an ice cream trip. Relive your childhood’s blissful summer days and hop from once ice cream parlor to another. Never mind the sugar (rush) and the calories. When you’re out having fun with your favorite woman, cheat days are always welcome.

2. Spa Day
Schedule an appointment for two and pop in for a pampering session. There’s nothing like treating mom to an hour-long massage or to a relaxing mani-pedi. A spa day is essentially a fun opportunity to catch up and indulge in some much-needed girl time.

3.Get Crafty
Now’s the time to let mom in on your arts and crafting passion. Set up a date at home, and work on a DIY craft project for her room or the kitchen. Before getting your hands busy, troop to the mall for your supplies. Thankfully, there are a lot of stockists that offer arts and crafts materials for every project imaginable.

4.Ladies Who Lunch
Skip lunch with your friends this weekend, and take mom out instead. Choose a place with good ambience, service, and food to die for. While this opportunity will allow you and mom to discover new places to eat and gather, it’ll also help you learn more about each other’s tastes. Pro tip: Make this a weekly habit, and list down all the good restaurants you’ve been to for future reference. Invite grandma, too!

5.Play Dress Up
Did you know that research says the shopping experience strengthens mother-daughter relationships? Well, now you know why it’s called retail therapy for a good reason –shopping together presents an occasion to bond. But more than going home with loads of new drops from your favorite brands, it’s also a learning experience for both parties –your mom teaching you the value of money and you influencing your mom on fashion trends.
