SM’s employees and partners joined hands with the communities they serve across the country through the ‘Jerusalema’ dance.

SM comes together as one family to bring a message of hope, faith, and unity through their own dance version of the viral song, “Jerusalema.”

“As we look forward to better days ahead, we are inspired by the message of hope that the Jerusalema song imparts worldwide. More than just a dance challenge, the song has an important message – when we are faced with overwhelming challenges, we choose to dance and celebrate life as one,” said Hans T. Sy, Chairman of the Executive Committee of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in his opening message.

Released on SM Supermalls’ various digital platforms this Easter Sunday, the video features SM Cares’ partners from Autism Society Philippines (ASP) and Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines (DSAPI), the Assumption Iloilo community, the indigenous people from the Cordilleras and Davao, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) tenant partners from North Luzon to Mindanao as well as Southern Luzon’s delivery riders and the families they serve. They are joined by the teams of SM Prime and SM Supermalls.

“Through our Jerusalema dance, we aim to encourage our fellowmen to soldier on and wish them healing, love, and life,” said SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.

Originally a South African gospel song, “Jerusalema” went viral this year via dance covers made by different communities on Youtube. The song, which was penned by musician and producer Master KG and sung by Nomcebo, inspired a dance challenge participated in by various netizens, celebrities, and organizations across the globe.
