Ahh, Holy Week. A time for reflection and general kicking it back. You may find yourself out of your usual haunts due to both holiday closure and the lockdown, but that doesn’t mean you’re short on options.

But, worry not! We’ve gathered a list of places to get easy, simple, Lent-friendly meals this coming week just for you!

Max’s Restaurant

Enjoy the Philippines’ favorite fried chicken restaurant al fresco in any of Max’s SM Supermall branches with outdoor dining options!

This lenten season is made more special with Max’s new fish and chips. Along with old favorites like Sinigang na Bangus Belly and Sizzling Tofu, you’re not short with options for this week!

Outdoor dining options are available in: SM Baguio, SM Mall of Asia, SM Sta. Rosa, and SM Southmall.

Banh Mi Kitchen

For a quick sandwich fix, Banh Mi Kitchen has a no-fuss menu that makes it easy for anyone to decide on a meal. Flavorful chicken and pork offerings with fresh vegetables will surely nourish that temple of a body.

Drive-thru options are still available at SM Mall of Asia, while the SM Aura, Southmall, Clark, and Pampanga branches will be open to make sure you get to have a bite of your favorite Vietnamese sandwiches to go! If you haven’t tried it yet, now is a great time to do so.

Osaka Ohsho at SM Megamall

If gyoza is what you are craving, why not go for the world’s number 1? The Philippines’ first Osaka Ohsho will have its doors open for as long as there are mouths to feed.

You cannot go wrong with their original gyoza, but their must-try dishes would definitely be the Cheese and Nori varieties for added flavor. Osaka Ohsho at SM Megamall will take your orders to-go, or you can have them picked up for delivery.

Zubuchon at SM Mall of Asia

The taste of all-natural, all-local Cebu lechon is still within reach as Zubuchon remains open to serve your favorite dish al fresco!

But fret not as Zubuchon also comes with a robust seafood menu. Seafood kare-kare and Sizzling Chili Shrimp are just some of the ones that caught our eye!

MESA

Sometimes, all we need is something familiar to feel comfort. Mesa is loaded with everyone’s Filipino favorites and we’re certain that you’ll find something to fit your mood.

For this week, though, we are eyeing a hearty serving Sinigang na Salmon Head and Laing 2 Ways for a good dose of fiber. Mesa also has an excellent selection of fresh seasonal seafood, so there’s always something to look forward to.

Tim Ho Wan may be known for its BBQ Pork Buns, but you can definitely extend the joy by taking on their menu further. Leave room for their exciting chow mein, and fried tofu with pork floss. If soups are more your speed, then you’ll surely slow down to savor the Hong Kong Wanton soup.
