Synopsis:
In a fictional Japan of Meiji Era, a time of remarkable civilization and enlightenment, people from families that have inherited special abilities [inou] have been protecting people from various disasters together with the emperor who rules the country. Miyo Saimori was from one of the prestigious families but born without the ability, and has lived her whole life being abused by her stepmother and half-sister. She is ordered to marry a ruthless soldier, Kiyoka Kudo, who leads the Alien Force at a young age, as a political ploy. True to the rumors that numerous potential fiancées had fled within three days, Kiyoka coldly told Miyo, "You must obey me here. If I tell you to leave, leave. If I tell you to die, you die.” Miyo, who has no place to run away to, realizes during her stay at the Kudo household that Kiyoka is not the man he is reputed to be. Kiyoka is also touched by Miyo's thoughtfulness, and the two eventually establishes a special bond with each other. A light shines on a political marriage that seemed to have no chance of happiness. “I wanted to stay with this man for as long as possible…” However, at the same time, a series of calamities struck the people of the Imperial Capital one after another. Kiyoka is ordered to be a shield for the people. Behind Kiyoka, who is fulfilling his duty, the devil's hand is closing in on Miyo as well. Before long, a cruel fate mercilessly rips them apart...
