SM Sensory Lab: A Calming Corner
The SM Sensory Lab — A Calming Corner, created in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), is the first sensory-friendly calming corner in the Philippines. This thoughtfully designed space provides a soothing environment where individuals experiencing sensory processing challenges can take a break from overwhelming sights, sounds, and activity inside the mall.
Why We Built the SM Sensory Lab
Rooted in SM’s commitment to create a Mall for All, the SM Sensory Lab reflects the company’s ongoing mission to make every space more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming to every Filipino. By designing experiences that put people first, SM ensures that every corner of the mall is shaped with genuine care and consideration…all for you.
With the introduction of the country’s first sensory‑friendly calming corner, and the plan to bring similar spaces to more malls, SM hopes to make each visit more comfortable, reassuring, and meaningful for every member of its community.
