How many kids participated in the SM Little Stars during the previous years?
Last 2023, we had more than 33,000 thousand kids who joined the Preliminary Screenings in 70 SM malls nationwide. From the thousands of participants, a total of 30 grand finalists showcased their talents during the Grand Finals last October 2023.

What is the age requirement to be eligible to join the SM Little Stars 2024?
Every individual boy or girl whose age is between four (4) to seven (7) years old on the date of the Preliminary Screening schedule, photogenic / telegenic, cute & charming with pleasing personality, and talented, is eligible to join the SM Little Stars competition.
What is the list of requirements to join the SM Little Stars 2024 and where to submit?
To join the contest, the following must be submitted to the Mall Administration Office (pre-registration) or to the official event organizer during the Preliminary Screening schedule:
Application Form – completely filled-up and signed by the parent/s (exercising parental authority) or guardian with appropriate authorization from the parent/s (exercising parental authority) of the contestant
Original and photocopy of the contestant’s birth certificate (original copy will be returned after proper verification of the photocopy)
Two (2) copies of 4R size photo of the contestant taken with light make-up only: one (1) close up shot and one (1) whole body shot
Who are not eligible to join the SM Little Stars competition or be qualified to win in SM Little Stars competition?
The following are not eligible to join the SM Little Stars competition:
Winners or placers from other similar contests within the duration of the previous calendar year until the current calendar year (2023-2024), of any company/sponsor and its affiliates with the same line of business or industry or in conflict with the business or industry of SM Supermalls and SM Retail Affiliates (SM Store, SM Markets and Toy Kingdom only)
Boys and girls who have been contracted in any form or made arrangements (verbal or written) or of whatever nature or kind, by a print publication company, TV or cable network, talent management agency, or movie outfit, whose photo, appearance or performance will be printed, published, aired or shown (e.g. print advertisement, TV show, feature and/or advertisement or digital feature and/or advertisement) during the contest period from the Preliminary Screening, Regional Finals, Grand Finals and up to the last online airing date of SM Little Stars 2024 Grand Finals
Boys and girls who have any commercial arrangement with any publication, talent or advertising outfit or of similar kind whose appearance or performance will be printed, published, aired or shown during the contest period from the Preliminary Screening, Regional Finals, Grand Finals and up to the last online airing date of SM Little Stars 2024 Grand Finals

What is the schedule of the Preliminary Screenings of SM Little Stars 2024?
Can I register my child before the scheduled Preliminary Screening? Where can I register?
Yes, pre-registration is allowed provided that the requirements are complete. A parent / guardian may submit the registration requirements to the Marketing Department of the Mall Administration Office or to the assigned official event organizer of the concerned SM mall.
Are twins allowed to join SM Little Stars?
Twins are eligible to join but they have to perform and be judged separately.
My child is turning 8 years old on June 30, is he eligible to join on June 15 schedule of Preliminary Screenings?
Yes. A kid may join as long as he/she is 7 years old during the Preliminary screening schedule.
Same rule applies to 4 year-old kids.
My child is a commercial model but has no current TV commercials, is he allowed to join SM Little Stars 2024?
Yes, he is allowed to join, provided that no TV commercial will be aired or shown during the Preliminary Screening, Regional Finals, Grand Finals and on the date of the airing of the SM Little Stars Grand Finals (from June to September 2024). This is to prevent bias on the judging during the competition.
My child is a winner from other similar contests with the same line of business or industry of SM Supermalls and SM affiliates, can she join the SM Little Stars 2024?
No. Winners or placers from other similar contests within the duration of the previous calendar year until the current calendar year, of any company/sponsor and its affiliates with the same line of business or industry or in conflict with the business or industry of SM Supermalls and SM Affiliates are not eligible to join the SM Little Stars 2024.
What kind of talents are allowed for SM Little Stars?
Each individual contestant shall perform ONE of the following talents: singing, dancing, modelling, acting or role-playing, doing acrobatics or gymnastics, visual arts presentation, or playing an instrument.
Are costumes or props allowed? Are there exceptions?
Costumes are allowed. However, props are not allowed during the Preliminary screening, except for the following items/objects: Table (maximum measurement of 4 feet long and 1.5 feet wide), chair, lyric stand or microphone stand or any form of device used in playing a musical instrument; mat for dance or gymnastics; or similar item necessary for the delivery of the talent performance.
Props will only be allowed during the talent performance in the Regional Finals and Grand Finals.
What props are not allowed at all?
The following stage props are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED during the talent performance in the Preliminary Screening, Regional Finals and Grand Finals:
Cane, gun, balls, box, banner, backdrop, fire-related / flammable material, or any similar material inappropriate, hazardous or poses risk to the contestant and to others
Batons, machetes, knives, and other pointed objects
Smoke or smoke-effect, balloons or confetti
Real food
Live animals
Products with competitive branding
Are head ornaments considered as a prop?
Head ornaments are considered as a costume since it is part of an outfit worn to create the appearance characteristic of a person
Is there a time limit on the performance?
Yes. During the Preliminary Screening, each contestant will be given only a maximum of ONE (1) minute to perform his/her talent onstage. The judge/s has the right to stop a performance if deemed necessary during the one (1) minute time limit. The decision of the judge/s is final in concurrence with DTI.
For the Regional Finals and Grand Finals, each finalist will be given only a maximum of TWO (2) minutes to perform his/her talent onstage.
If my child won’t be able to make to the Regional Finals in one mall, can he/she still join in other malls?
Yes. S/he can still join in the Preliminary Screening schedules in other SM malls. New set of registration forms with the other requirements per mall will be required to submit.
Is my child required to stay in the event venue until the end of the Preliminary Screening day?
No. Right after his/her performance, your child may leave the event venue and not wait for the announcement of winners.
When and where will the Preliminary screening winners be announced?
Those who will qualify for the Regional Finals after the Preliminary Screening will be announced via the microsite (www.smsupermalls.com/smlittlestars/) the day after the scheduled Preliminary Screening of each participating mall.
The list will also be posted in the official Facebook page of the SM mall branch where the Preliminary Screening was conducted.

Are there previous winners of SM Little Stars who are now part of the country’s entertainment industry?
Yes. From the thousands of kids who participated, SM Little Stars has produced over 30 kids that are now in the field of show business, modelling, singing, dancing and acting.
Some of the notable kids are:
Esang De Torres who is known for portraying Lea Salong’s MiniMe on a popular TV show. Last 2018, she hosted the SM Little Stars grand finals program. And just this year, she was one of our judges already.
Chun Sa Angela Jung who had several projects both in films and television. She was part of the movie “Just The 3 Of Us” and the TV show “Goin Bulilit”. She also joined Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids Season 2 and It’s Showtime MiniMe.
Nhikzy Calma who is the 2017 Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World and It’s Showtime first ever grand winner of MiniMe.
