Designed with you in mind, it empowers communities to conveniently dispose of PET plastic beverage bottles—helping reduce plastic waste while building long‑term sustainable habits.

All collected plastics are properly processed and recycled, supporting a circular economy and advancing SM’s commitment to a waste‑free future.
This initiative is part of the SM Green Movement, SM Supermalls’ environmental sustainability platform that inspires communities to adopt greener lifestyles—all for you, and for a greener tomorrow.

What You Can Recycle

The SM Green Recycling Machine accepts PET plastic beverage bottles ranging from 500 mL to 2 liters to ensure proper and high‑quality recycling.

Before You Drop Them In
▪   Make sure bottles are empty, clean, and dry. Rinse and dry them first, if needed.
▪   You may leave the caps on.

What the Machine Can't Take
These items go to other recycling bins:
▪   Glass
▪   Aluminum cans
▪   Dirty or contaminated containers
▪   Other types of plastics

How It Works

Step 1: Tap “Direct Recycle"

Start your recycling journey with a quick tap on the screen.

Step 2: Insert Your Bottles

Place your PET bottles one at a time into the slot for accurate detection. Need to add more? Tap “Continue”.

Step 3: Tap “Completed”

Finished recycling? Tap “Completed” to record your impact and finish the process.

Yes—PET bottles that are empty, clean, and dry are accepted, even if they’re from outside the mall.

No. Bottles can be deposited with the caps on.

This usually happens if the bottle is not PET, crumpled, or wet/dirty. If the issue continues, approach the nearest mall information booth or guard for assistance.

If the machine is full or temporarily unavailable, a message will appear on the screen. You may report it to the nearest mall personnel or security guard.

Not recommended. Please insert intact bottles so the machine can properly scan and identify them.

Look for the PET or #1 symbol—usually found on the bottom or back label of the bottle.

No. These should be placed in designated Recyclable (R) bins located around the mall.
