The Philippine Men's National Hockey Team showcased resilience and determination at the 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey World Championship Division III B, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from February 23 to 29, 2024.
Despite securing the 4th position after five intense matches, with 2 wins and 3 losses, the team's performance is lauded as a commendable achievement. This marks their debut in Division III B after sealing the championship last year at the Division IV Championships.
Comprising of 20 skilled players, the Philippine team demonstrated notable growth and adaptability in their sophomore appearance at the World Championships. Their transition from Division IV champions to Division 3B contenders underscores their dedication and progression in the sport.
Overall top scorers in the 2024 World Championship Division III B are John Steven Fuglister, Jan Aro Regencia and Kenwrick Sze who came in 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.
The Philippine players distinguished themselves as top scorers in the entire division, surpassing competitors from various nations. Notably, John Steven Fuglister secured the third position in overall scoring, closely followed by Jan Aro Regencia in fourth place and Kenwrick Sze in fifth place.
