Kiddie shoppers and their families nationwide gathered at SM Supermalls last December 1 to take part in the first-ever ‘Happy Bear Day’ celebration that introduced the all-new, limited edition 2019 ‘Joy Squad’ collectibles and paid tribute to all the donors of the SM Bears of Joy Christmas charity project.
“For the past eight years since the SM Bears of Joy was launched, our shoppers have always been the reason why we are able to bring smiles to more kids every holiday season,” said SM Supermalls’ senior vice president for marketing Jonjon San Agustin. “And this 2019, our toy bears are extra special because they aim not only to delight but also to inspire kids to reach for their dreams as the four new bears characters were inspired by some of the top dream jobs of children worldwide.”

During the #HappyBearDay Media Conference, SM Bears of Joy kiddie beneficiaries from Tondo, Manila were treated to an exclusive Meet and Greet with the life-sized version of the Joy Squad composed of AJ The Star a.k.a. the ACTRESS, FJ The Savior, a.k.a the FIREFIGHTER, PJ The Hero, a.k.a. the POLICEMAN, and CJ The Achiever, a.k.a. the CHEERLEADER.
“Through AJ, FJ, PJ, and CJ, SM kiddie shoppers can share the joy of Christmas and teddy bear hugs to their fellow kids,” said San Agustin. “For most children from indigent communities, the SM Bears of Joy are usually their first new toy, and getting it during this season is what makes their Christmas a memorable one.”

SHARE THE JOY THROUGH THE SM BEARS OF JOY. For only P200, a customer can buy a pair of toy bears, where one goes to the customer and the other is left for donation to charity. All collected toy bears will be donated by the SM malls to their chosen beneficiaries, which range from public orphanages, child community centers, or related non-government organizations.
