Last Sunday, January 17, 2016 in MOA Arena, MOA Complex Pasay City, the event Angels Walk for Autism, the country’s biggest autism inclusion advocacy event took place to promote awareness, acceptance and inclusion for persons with autism. With the estimated 13, 000 participants, the event was spearheaded by the Autism Society Philippines, in partnership with SM Cares, SM Mall of Asia and MOA Arena.

The first Angels Walk for Autism was held in 2007 and has been gathering a bigger crowd every year.  SM Cares works with private and public sectors toward the vision of a life with dignity, equal rights and access for PWAs to function independently and contribute productivity. The group, has been calling the public and private sectors’ attention to the growing number of autism cases, and has been urging them to fight for the rights of the afflicted to equal living and opportunities.

But beyond the Angels Walk for Autism’s attempt for a world record title is an underlying message of hope for an ‘Autism OK’ Philippines.
