SOUTH EAST ASIA PROPERTY AWARDS 2015
Last October 21, 2015 SM Megamall was awarded Best Retail Architectural Design for its newest game-changing wing, the Mega Fashion Hall, by the South East Asia Property Awards. Mega Fashion Hall includes a dynamic retail mix, food hall, main hall for events, and an entertainment center that features an Olympic-sized ice skating rink, 14 lane bowling alley and IMAX and Director’s Club theaters. The new wing’s semi-circular format represents a visual and physical break from the original rectilinear mall.
Held at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, Terry Blackbum, CEO of Ensign Media and publisher of Property Report says, “This evening is the end of a year-long journey to find the best of the best across Southeast Asia. The depth of innovation and leadership displayed by the contenders this year is a great reminder why Southeast Asia remains one of the most exciting real estate markets internationally.”
SM Prime Holdings was also highly commended in the Best Developer in South East Asia category, and SMDC Shell Residences in the Best Landscape Architectural Design category.
2015 ASIA PACIFIC SHOPPING CENTER AWARD
SM Megamall also received accolade in the renovations and expansions design and development category in the recent 2015 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Award held in Taipei, Taiwan last October 20, 2015.
Organized by the Internal Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the awards recognize the region’s most innovative shopping centers for outstanding achievement in marketing, design and development, and retail. ICSC is the global trade association of the shopping center industry with more than 70,000 members in over 100 countries.
