What’s it for: The Unified Multi-Purpose Identification card is used to transact with the Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund. Those employed in private companies can course their UMID application via SSS. First-time applicants can get the UMID for free.

How and where to get it: Head over to any SSS outpost at SM Supermalls with your SSS number and requirements. Make sure to visit the mall directory to check for an SSS office that can serve you. Requirements: Filled-out application form, any one of the following primary documents (driver’s license, passport, professional regulation commission card, or seaman’s book) or in the absence of the primary documents, any two of the following secondary documents (e.g. Postal ID, school or company ID, TIN card, ATM card)
