SM Supermalls China was recognized as ‘2017 Model Corporate of Social Responsibility’ for its focus and pragmatism in corporate social responsibility at an awarding ceremony during the 6th China Finance Summit last July 20, held in Beijing, China. The award was received by SM China’s Mr. Benedicto A. Granados, Jr. (4th from right) from Ms. Li Yinlu, Scholar of Beijing Normal University (1st from right). Other winners were China’s Dafa Land, Poten Environment, Griffin Reed Capital Group, and Tibet Spring 5100. Also recognized were USA’s Boston Scientific Corporation, leading global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, and Fujixerox, a joint venture of Japan Fuji and American Xerox.

SM Supermalls China was recognized as ‘2017 Model Corporate of Social Responsibility’ for its focus and pragmatism in corporate social responsibility at the awarding ceremonies during the 6th China Finance Summit (CFS) last July 20, held in Beijing, China.

 

Past winners of the ‘Model Corporate of Social Responsibility’ included CapitaLand, one of Asia's largest real estate companies, and well-known global brands like Amway and Pfizer.

 

Established by the financial and media industries, CFS is one of the most influential exchange platforms in the Chinese financial sector. Companies hailed for this recognition were identified by the CFS organizing committee through social survey and deliberated by a panel of renowned institutions, key media practitioners, and experts.

 

SM Cares is SM’s corporate social responsibility arm that spearheads socially responsible and environmentally sustainable projects of the SM Group, especially in China. Activities this year include the celebration of Earth Hour and Children’s Book Reading Day. On the roofs of SM City Xiamen, SM Lifestyle Center, and SM City Jinjiang, there are also over 6,600 solar panels that annually generate 2.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
